Deadly Attack in Jerusalem: Six Killed at Bus Stop

Jerusalem Bus Stop Shooting Leaves Six Dead, Survivors in Shock

What began as an ordinary Monday morning commute in northern Jerusalem turned into a scene of horror when two gunmen opened fire at a crowded bus stop, killing at least six people and leaving several others critically wounded.

Witnesses described chaos and fear as shots rang out around 10:15 a.m. at a busy intersection in Ramot. People waiting for their buses had little time to react before the attackers unleashed a hail of bullets.

“I saw people screaming and running for cover. Others were lying on the ground, bleeding,” said one survivor, still shaken by the events.

Police officials labeled the shooting a terrorist attack. According to their statement, soldiers and civilians nearby courageously returned fire, managing to kill the attackers on the spot before more lives were lost.

Israel’s foreign minister, Gideon Saar, said the assailants were Palestinians. No group has claimed responsibility for the assault.

Families of the victims rushed to hospitals, where doctors fought to save the wounded. Ambulance services described the scene as devastating.

The attack took place in Ramot, an area Israel annexed after the 1967 Arab-Israeli war. While Israel considers it part of Jerusalem, Palestinians and much of the international community see it as an occupied settlement.

For now, grief hangs heavy over Jerusalem. What should have been an ordinary morning commute has instead become another painful reminder of the human cost of conflict.
